Kalie.net isn't quite up. It's not quite down either. 1and1 decided to delete my crap. So it disappeared for like. Years. And now my CSS looks like junk in modern browsers, so I'll have to redo it. And the content I had? Well, it's been gone too. :( The rest of the text here is historical and, eventually, something useful may appear here.

In late 2003 my server was ... well ... owned. Aside from being a humbling experience, it pretty much marked the end of my interest in running my own server from a DSL line with 128k uplink. Keeping up with the latest vulns and script kiddie rootkits just to keep myself safe just isn't an option when I've got a full time job and many personal interests taking up my time. Plus hey, I made the mistake of choosing RedHat 7.0 and got burnt good.

This time around it'll probably be a variant of the old CSS layout that made my EQ Server Status Page so popular. The journal/blog is gone though, in favor of a Flickr photoblog that just makes so much more sense, and provides so much more shared hilarity per minute of time invested. Music and game suggestions for the crew and beyond may make an apperance, but who knows if I'll get off my lazy duff and get down to business.
